1. Potential member expresses an interest in becoming a Member of the WREV, attends at least one meeting, and receives a membership packet
2. Potential member completes application and returns it to WREV Membership Team.
3. Potential member is interviewed by the Membership Team, which makes a recommendation to the Members. It is at this time that any background check would be run on potential members, fees paid for by the applicant.
4. After the interview, a decision will be made within a month. If necessary, a follow up interview will be requested within this time frame.
5. Potential member reviews the list of suggested readings, participates in orientations, workshops and/or personal research covering such topics as our values, sociocracy, Nonviolent Communication, diversity, permaculture, sustainability, and low-impact development.
6. Potential member signs an agreement accepting all of our policies.
7. Potential member pays for lot and/or signs a contract for a portion of cost of the lot, thereby becoming a full Member.
8. New members are expected to develop a working knowledge of sociocracy, Non-violent communication, diversity, permaculture, sustainability, and low-impact development within one year of becoming a member.
Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case- by- case basis.
